<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span style="text-autospace:ideograph-numeric ideograph-other"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif"><span style="line-height:115%">A promise is not just a beautiful word from God, it is a divine assignment. A promise reveals purpose. It announces what Heaven intends to release into the earth through our lives. But with every promise comes a choice: Will I obey God and walk into it? Or will I delay and suffer the consequences of disobedience?</span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span style="text-autospace:ideograph-numeric ideograph-other"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif"><span style="line-height:115%">God always fulfills what He says, but not always to those who refuse to align. There is always a requirement to fulfill, and we see it throughout the Old Testament with the children of Israel.</span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span style="text-autospace:ideograph-numeric ideograph-other"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif"><b><span style="font-size:13.5pt"><span style="line-height:115%">1. Promises Require Partnership: </span></span></b><span style="line-height:115%">God declared to Israel a land flowing with milk and honey, but they still had to <i>walk, fight, and possess</i> the land. What did He say to Joshua? </span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span style="text-autospace:ideograph-numeric ideograph-other"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif"><i><span style="line-height:115%">&ldquo;Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you.&rdquo;</span></i><span style="line-height:115%">&mdash; Joshua 1:3</span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span style="text-autospace:ideograph-numeric ideograph-other"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif"><span style="line-height:115%">The promise was secure, but the possession was conditional. They had to be strong and of a good courage, they had to trust God, believe in Him, obey, and not touch the accursed thing of the enemy, and they had to aggressively face their enemies without fear in order to take possession of their inheritance. Faith without movement leads to forfeiture of the promise<b>.</b></span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span style="text-autospace:ideograph-numeric ideograph-other"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif"><b><span style="font-size:13.5pt"><span style="line-height:115%">2. Delayed Obedience Creates Delayed Fulfillment: </span></span></b><span style="line-height:115%">The children of Israel wandered 40 years in a wilderness that was meant to be a very short journey. It wasn&rsquo;t because God changed His mind or wanted to push them through hardship before they could enjoy it, but it was because they refused to believe what God had promised.</span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span style="text-autospace:ideograph-numeric ideograph-other"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif"><span style="line-height:115%">The book of Hebrews tells us clearly, <i>&ldquo;So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.&rdquo; </i>&mdash; Hebrews 3:19</span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span style="text-autospace:ideograph-numeric ideograph-other"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif"><span style="line-height:115%">The promise didn&rsquo;t disappear, but because of unbelief and disobedience, the first generation did. God&rsquo;s promises remain today, but we, His people must change to inherit.</span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:115%"><span style="text-autospace:ideograph-numeric ideograph-other"><span style="font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif"><b><span style="font-size:13.5pt"><span style="line-height:115%">3. But the promise of God is designed to stretch our:</span></span></span></span></span></p>

The Apostle Paul understanding the requirement beseeches us to <i>&ldquo;&hellip; Present our bodies a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto God, which is our reasonable service and be not confirmed to this world, be be transformed by the renewing of your mind; that you may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God&hellip;&rdquo; </i>&mdash; Romans 12: 1-2</span></span></span></span></span></p>
