God’s Promises Are Within Me

PART 11

September 20, 2025

This is a powerful truth that every believer must hold on to God’s promises, which are not far off, but within us. Through Christ, we are carriers of His Word, His Spirit, and His covenant blessings. Sometimes, life’s challenges may tempt us to look outward for affirmation or fulfillment, but Scripture reminds us that what we need to thrive and overcome is already planted inside of us. But what is a promise? A promise is a sacred declaration (written or verbal) which can be either a mutual or a one-sided promise: from man-man; man-God; God-man; God-self.

The promise we speak of is that of God-man. As the creation of God, we have been endowed with promises that are streamlined to keep us in a posture of expectation. This is possible only as we recognize and live under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. There is a mystery in the promises of God in that it originates from the thoughts God has concerning us, even before we were conceived in our mother’s womb (Jeremiah 29:11).

God’s promises are with me because:

1. God’s Word Dwells in Us: When we accepted Christ, His Word came alive in our hearts. The Bible says, “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you” (Psalm 119:11). This means His promises are not just ink on paper, but living seeds sown into the soil of our spirits. They are designed to grow, manifest, and bear fruit.

2. Christ in Us, the Hope of Glory: Paul declared, “Christ in you, the hope of glory” (Colossians 1:27). Because Christ lives in us, we carry the assurance that every promise of God finds its “Yes” and “Amen” in Him (2 Corinthians 1:20). Healing, peace, provision, strength, and victory are not distant dreams—they are present realities that flow from His Spirit within us.

3. Stirring Up What’s Already There: Sometimes we pray, waiting for God to drop blessings from heaven, when He’s waiting for us to stir up what He has already placed inside. “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you” (2 Timothy 1:6). God’s promises are like a well within; faith, obedience, and declaration draw them out.

4. Living From the Inside Out: The enemy often tries to distract us with what we see externally—lack, sickness, delay—but our victory is within. Jesus said, “The kingdom of God is within you” (Luke 17:21). That means His promises are activated not by sight, but by belief. As we align our thoughts, words, and actions with His Word, His promises begin to manifest outwardly.

5. A Daily Declaration

Every day, we can affirm:

  • God’s peace is within me.
  • God’s healing is within me.
  • God’s provision is within me.
  • God’s joy is within me.
  • God’s Spirit is within me.

When we live with this awareness, we stop chasing blessings and start walking in the fullness of what God has already given us.

You don’t have to wait for God’s promises to arrive; they already live within you. Your role is to believe, declare, and walk in them. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11), and with Him, every promise of God becomes your reality.

Blessings
